It's been almost 1 year since we moved into our new house in Belmont. We chose this community after looking long and hard throughout Gainesville. It offered affordability, terrific location, pleasing appearance, association maintained front yard and recreational amenities. What we found after we moved here is great neighbors with a nice mix of retired people and younger families. The house is just the right size for us and the energy efficiency is a bonus. We want to travel and feel that we can close the door and leave without worrying about house security or yard maintenance.

About a year ago we looked at our big house and yard and what it was costing us each month. Our needs changed over the last 15 years with children leaving. Although we loved our Gainesville neighborhood, we thought a “new” change would be the right move. The Belmont subdivision suited us just perfectly.

Now, professionals take care of our yard, we will soon have a community pool, tennis and basketball courts (that we do not have to maintain), our power bill is 1/3 of what it used to be, we have great neighbors and best of all we have a new house with all new “bling bling” and energy efficiency. Our new abode will require very little attention before we retire. We have a lot more time for evening walks and talks.

We should also mention Publix is 3 minutes away, and I-75 6 minutes. Alachua, Newberry and the Mall are 10 minutes or less. We are right across the street from the new Jonesville Park which will be the premiere recreation facility in the area. With the park and much larger and expensive homes going up around us, resale will never be a problem. Chances are if you downsize, so will your mortgage.

Take it from a CPA and teacher-- quick inventory your current standing and see if Belmont is right for you. Whether it is 2,3 or 4 bedrooms one of the models will fit your needs like us.
